Bill 26, FD1 – Relating to Our Kūpuna Month.
“Bill 26 (2024) establishes May as “Honor Our Kūpuna Month” to acknowledge and celebrate the profound wisdom, generational knowledge, and significant contributions of our cherished Kūpuna. May we all find meaningful ways to express our gratitude for their lasting contributions.” – Public Safety Committee Chair and Introducer Val Okimoto
Bill 3, CD2, FD1 – Relating to incentives for the construction of affordable rental housing.

Resolution 24-117, CD1 – Approving the transfer of land in Pouhala Marsh to the State Department of Land and Natural Resources for conservation purposes.
Resolution 24-118 – Establishing City policies and priorities for using the Grants in Aid Fund.
“The Grants in Aid (GIA) program was established to support non-profit organizations in developing programs to address community needs, including for various at-risk populations. By implementing this recommendation from the GIA Advisory Commission—setting the maximum award of GIA funds to $150,000 per organization, per grant, and per fiscal year—funds will be distributed to a greater number of nonprofits, resulting in a greater reach into our communities.” - Budget Committee Chair and Introducer Radiant Cordero
Resolution 24-160 – Urging the City Administration to propose an updated City policy prioritizing using Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to support nonprofit organizations, including acquisition projects.
“Community Development Block Grant funds help nonprofit organizations provide critical services to our most vulnerable populations and build out programs that have served the people of Honolulu for decades. Council Resolution 24-160 directs the City Administration to reaffirm and formalize its support for nonprofits in the distribution of these funds, and I look forward to seeing the strides the Administration and its nonprofit funding recipients will make toward building a stronger and more resilient O‘ahu.” – Council Vice Chair and Introducer Esther Kia‘āina
Resolution 24-17 – Approving the sale of the Pi‘ikoi Mini Park.
“In its current condition, Pi‘ikoi Mini Park is underutilized and faces maintenance challenges affecting the surrounding community. The proposed sale to RV Ventures, Ltd., the adjacent property owner, presents a valuable opportunity to address these problems effectively. RV Ventures, Ltd. has committed to securing and improving the park area, including adding fencing, enhancing landscaping, and addressing the current issues with illegal activities and feral chickens.
