Committees
Committee meetings are held between full Council meetings to consider and refine legislation. Nine committees meet on topics ranging from Budget to Zoning and Planning.
Agencies
The City Clerk, City Auditor, and Office of Council Services (OCS) are appointed by the City Council and support legislative work, elections, and more.
Duties
The City Council is the lawmaking body of the City and County of Honolulu and determines policies and programs for the City, sets budgets, and much more.

Guiding Documents
The Council makes decisions based on many guiding plans and reports. Foundational to their decision-making is the City Charter and Revised Ordinances (or the City “code,” as it’s known colloquially.
