City Council Floor Leader obtains Doctorate Degree

Andria Tupola honored by Full City Council

HONOLULU, HAWAI‘I – Honolulu City Council Floor Leader Andria Tupola has obtained her doctorate degree in Music education from the University of Hawai‘i. She completed her bachelor’s degree at BYU-Provo, in Utah. She is currently traveling in Utah.

"It took me 10 years to do it. I finally achieved it, despite everything, I've never given up on my love for music nor my pursuit of higher education."

Honolulu City Council Chair Tommy Waters announced Tupola’s achievement at the end of today’s special City Council meeting and invited council colleagues to join him in congratulating her on achieving her Ph.D.

Honolulu City Council Floor Leader Andria Tupola, Ph.D., represents Council District 1 which includes portions of ʻEwa Villages and ʻEwa Beach, Kapolei, Makakilo, Kalaeloa, Honokai Hale, Ko Olina, Nānākuli, Māʻili, Waiʻanae, Mākaha, Keaʻau and Mākua. She also serves as chair of the Honolulu City Council Committee on Executive Matters and Legal Affairs.
