Councilmember Cordero statement on Emergency Housing Vouchers
(HONOLULU, HAWAI‘I) – Honolulu City Councilmember Radiant Cordero today issued a statement following the City Administration’s acceptance of all available Emergency Housing Vouchers available from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
“I am grateful that the mayor has taken action to accept the Emergency Housing Vouchers. A week ago, I wrote to our mayor and his administration that it is critical to accept these vouchers. Now, we have more tools to implement critical housing assistance for our most vulnerable neighbors to seek and maintain stable housing as many of our communities across O‘ahu continue to face and recover from some of our most destabilizing times.”
Honolulu City Councilmember Radiant Cordero represents Council District 7 which includes Kalihi, lwilei, Kalihi Kai, Māpunapuna, Salt Lake, Āliamanu, Hickam, Foster Village, Ford Island and Sand Island. She also serves as Chair of the Council Committee on Transportation, Sustainability and Health.
