Councilmember Matt Weyer represents Honolulu’s expansive Council District 2, which includes Waikele, Kunia, Wahiawā, and the entire North Shore to Kahaluʻu. Councilmember Weyer is a graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi’s Richardson School of Law with certificates in Native Hawaiian and Environmental Law, and also received his Master of Public Administration from UH Mānoa. He is also a former domestic violence prosecutor and served most recently as a planner with the City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Community Services. Councilmember Weyer brings a wealth of experience from the City’s legislative and executive branches. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Council and chairs the Housing, Sustainability, Economy, and Health Committee. In addition, he serves as Vice Chair of the International & Legal Affairs Committee and is a voting member of the following committees: Budget; Zoning; Planning, Infrastructure & Transportation; Public Safety & Customer Services; and Executive Management.
